About IntelliLung
IntelliLung, funded by the EU Horizon program, is an AI-based decision support system designed to optimize lung support for patients in intensive care units requiring mechanical ventilation. This innovative project is a collaboration among medical and technical partners from Germany, Spain, Serbia, Italy, and the USA, led by experts from the Technical University of Dresden.

Zuständigkeiten / Hauptaufgaben

What You Will Do
Join an international team of AI researchers, data engineers, and clinicians dedicated to developing life-saving algorithms for critical care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Iteratively research, apply, and validate latest machine learning (ML) and reinforcement learning (RL) approaches to guide patient treatment.
  • Clean, preprocess, and structure datasets to ensure they are AI-ready for ML/RL applications.
  • Contribute through research to topics such as modeling, uncertainty quantification, explainability, and offline policy evaluation, while having the freedom to pursue your own ideas.
Qualifikationen / Anforderungen

Who You Are

  • Currently enrolled at a German university and pursuing a master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Possess a solid understanding of machine learning, with particular experience in reinforcement learning.
  • Proficient in Python programming, with hands-on experience using libraries such as pandas, PyTorch, wandb, and matplotlib.
  • Business-fluent in English, with excellent communication skills.
  • Passionate about conducting research.

Job Details

  • Location: Preferably Dresden (remote work possible for candidates residing outside Dresden)
  • Workload: 19 hours per week
  • Start Date: immediately
