InfAI taps the expertise of more than 100 specialist scientists in Applied Informatics and bundles the knowledge of over 20 professors of Computer Science and Information Systems in the Central German region. The institute’s expertise includes most of the areas of Applied Informatics, in particular applied software engineering. It focuses on internal and external operational information systems, web applications for businesses and private consumers, big data, smart data, semantic technologies, system integration as well as software engineering, in particular for the service industry. InfAI has an excellent network that includes more than 100 companies in the Central German region, Germany and the EU. New challenges and opportunities are discussed with all industries involved. The focus is on continuously demonstrating new ways of digitalisation for Applied Informatics and to strengthen the innovation capacity in the region and beyond. Our centres of excellence (COE) are distinguished by their expanded range of subjects and services as well as their high level of expertise. As a result they are able to offer a particular value and benefit by means of specific knowledge transfer and networking. The subjects are dealt with in different centres of excellence of InfAI, which are headed by experienced senior directors.
