Transfer

Apart from being recognized for its excellent research performances the Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) stands for a close connection between science and economy. InfAI sees its role as transfer institute and innovation driver of solutions based on current information and communications technologies. The technologies are developed within national and international research projects or as contract research for various target industries, afterwards brought to product maturity in partnership with companies in order to make them available for use. To this end, we cooperate with other research institutes, institutions and companies and combine our knowledge to develop a marketable product, which is based on the most recent scientific research findings.

In 2016 InfAI started an incubation programme for technological company foundations from the research area. The incubator programme is specifically addressed to scientists willing to found a technological company based on research findings. Not only InfAI teams are to transfer knowledge into successful company foundations, but also startup teams are supposed to receive specific support by experts. The incubator is another InfAI transfer tool and offers scientists the opportunity to create successful marketable innovations from research findings.
