The Institute for Applied Informatics (InfAI) was founded as non-profit association in 2006 aiming to promote science and research in the areas of Computer Science and Information Systems. Being an affiliated institute of the University of Leipzig InfAI’s research is independent and application-oriented. Also, it is known to act flexibly as well as problem and business oriented. It aims to optimize transfer processes between science and economy. For these transfer processes InfAI Management GmbH was formed in 2015 as wholly owned subsidiary. InfAI Management GmbH is able to offer market-oriented development and consulting services based on innovative research findings. InfAI taps the expertise of more than 100 specialist scientists in Applied Informatics and bundles the knowledge of over 20 professors of Computer Science and Information Systems in the Central German region, including the fields of logistics, smart energy, smart data, big data, artifical intelligence and bio-medical data science.
